Nestling in the verdant northern Simonsberg, Le Bonheur wine estate is fast becoming a sought-after destination for lovers of cinema nouveau and good wine. Every last Friday of the month is dubbed Foreign Film Friday at Le Bonheur.
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, a 1972 surrealist French film, directed by Luis Buñuel and written by Jean-Claude Carrière in collaboration with the director, will be screened on February 24. South Africa’s literary heritage will be celebrated on March 30 with a showing of the 2007 documentary by Mozambique-born South African film and documentary maker Helena Nogueira, called Ingrid Jonker: her Lives and Time.
