This Sunday, enjoy a day in the Winelands while supporting the DOW Live Earth Run / Walk for Water at Spier.

The Dow Live Earth Run for Water is the largest solutions-based initiative aimed at solving the global water crisis in history. Taking place on April 18, 2010, the event will consist of a series of 6 km runs/walks taking place over 24 hours at venues around the world.

Six kilometres is the average distance women and children walk everyday to secure water for their families in parts of Africa.

A host of musicians and other celebrities, from John Legend to Jessica Biel are supporting this global event.

South Africa's event will be taking place at Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, with The Parlotones, SA's highest grossing rock band,  performing live on 18 April.

Sign up with your family and friends to walk (or run) 6kms and make a difference... every step counts!

Procedeeds from this event will go to Wildlands Conservation Trust. There will be an informative water village at SPIER where people can find out about Live Earth, Wildlands and water related projects and water conservation

Meander through vineyards, pack a picnic, soak up the sun, dress up…or down , but most importantly remember that you are making a huge difference so smile and have fun!
