Pork Roast in Beersauce Recipe
Ingredients (for 4 persons):
-
1 kg Pork’s neck (without bones)
-
Salt Pepper Marjoram Rosemary
-
3 tbsp of oil
-
300g onions
-
¼ litre of light beer
-
1 bayleaf
-
300g of mushrooms
-
1/8 litre of broth
-
1 tbsp of Grootbos Fynbos Honey
-
1 tbsp of sauce thickener
Method:
Firstly wash and dab the meat dry. Rub the spices around the meat. Then place the pork in a roasting dish and roast it gently. Deduct, dice and add the onions. Roast it shortly. Afterwards add the beer and the bayleaf. The pork has to cook for 1 ½ hours in the oven, at 200 degrees. Wash, clean and chop the mushrooms. Add the mushrooms 8 minutes before the end of cooking time. Then take out the meat and keep it warm. Add the broth and the honey to the meat stock, thicken it and taste it. Slice the pork roast and arrange it with the beersauce. On request garnish it with rosemary and marjoram.
