See Goldfish and Send Kirstenbosch to Chelsea

Posted Tue, 24 Mar 2009 (3 years ago)

Seeing achingly-hot local artists 'Goldfish' performing live is, in and of itself, something every self-respecting SAfrican should be doing on a regular basis if they want to keep their street credentials on the up.

Now there’s yet another reason to go support the Fishies when they rock Kirstenbosch at a specially organized concert set to end the Old Mutual Summer Sunset series off with a bang.

Goldfish will be performing in order to raise funds needed to send the annual SANBI Kirstenbosch-South Africa Chelsea Flower Show exhibit off to London in May 2009.

Goldfish is expected to draw a huge crowd as they have done at La Med all summer long, and at Spier last weekend. Their New Year's Eve appearance at Kirstenbosch was a sell-out and the organisers are confident that the fans will be back to support the cause and party the summer out in style.

A little about Goldfish (courtesy of Tunegum)

Highly popular Goldfish (or the 'Fishies' as they are fondly known to their legions of fans) is made up of Dominic Peters and David Poole. Hailing from the MotherCity, these unassuming surfer/jazz musician and electronic maniacs are one of the most exciting live electronica acts in the world. Their rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric and with their combination of live instruments like double bass, saxophone, keyboards, flute, and vocals with samplers, effects, synthesisers plus a healthy dollop of free-form improvisation, Goldfish has hit a nerve on dance floors across the world.
