Sad Ending to Whale Tale

Posted Fri, 9 Jan 2009 (3 years ago)

Following the heroic efforts of the Prodivers who helped what was a young Humpback whale when it got wedged between rocks near Llandudno yesterday, the story has a sad ending.

The CapeTimes reported today that the whale washed up on Sunset Beach, Milnerton, on Thursday.

It beached almost an hour before finally being announced dead by a Marine and Coastal Management member who was on the scene.

The carcass will be removed by the City of Cape Town’s Cleansing Department later today.

A sad loss, but wonderful that the whale died knowing the unconditional love that humans are capable of. Lets hope we all remember to extend this to fellow humans.

How can such a heroic story end so sadly?
Man spends so much time on negative exercises, one just wishes so fervently that this had not been this whale's time.
Well done to all the divers. Keep up the good work should you ever find yourself in that situation again. We need good stories like this.
