This weekend will see revelers and music lovers heading for the Up The Creek music festival which takes place on the banks of the Breede River near Swellendam.
This year more than
30 live music and comedy acts will be performed on the three stages. With a limit of just 2000 tickets the event is one of the more exclusive of its kind.
I went to Up The Creek a number of years ago with my son who was just 4 at the time and it was definitely family friendly. Playing on the river alongside some of the bands was a highlight, as was the great food on sale and of course the awesome acts.
We erected our little two man tent on the edge of the campsite overlooking the river below and hills beyond, and waking up to lie in our sleeping bags staring out at the sunrise was a special way to start each day.
This year’s event is 4 days long for those who want to rock up on tonight. These rockers will have the best choice of tent spots too.
