Another great batch of photographs, and the ranger diary from Richard Pearse of Pumba Private Game Reserve.
Ranger Diary
26 July 2010
The Elephant family has been spending a lot of their time in the Brookhuizenspoort; follow a spate of hot days which have been experienced on the reserve, looking to dust bath and quench their thirst. Not a lot of rain has been received this month, with us only having received 3mm to date.
At the beginning of the week, it was noted that both the White Lion and Lioness were mating, which attracted a lot of attention, regarding attracting the two Lion in the main section of the reserve.
Lion were heard far a field roaring, particularly at the lodges, until mating ended of Friday. The Lioness in the southern section, as well as the main section of the reserve, with cubs, are doing well, with the young ones developing quickly.
The Buffalo provided some exceptional sightings while being noted in the wallows found on the reserve.
