This year's Enduro Africa motorcycle challenge participants include two recognisable royals.
Britain’s royal brothers, Princes William and Harry, are getting down and dirty for a good cause this week.
The pair has joined up with around 80 other adventurous souls on Enduro Africa - a challenging motorbike ride across South Africa to raise funds for 4 local charities. The off-road trail, from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape to Durban in KwaZulu Natal, should take the participants 8 days in total – and is sure to be a very bumpy ride indeed.
Wills and Harry (26 and 24 years old respectively) told journalists that they anticipate taking more than a few tumbles as they traverse the rocky, undulating countryside, crossing over 70 rivers along the way.
As Harry said – “It's not just a bimble across the countryside that's for sure…” adding “We never really knew what to expect, but by the sounds of things – the talks we were given last night – I went to bed shaking and didn't sleep that well."
On the fact that he was going to be spending ‘quality time’ with his younger brother – a rarity in their busy, very different lives, William joked: “The pain of spending a week with my brother (will be) well worth it.”
The following four charities will be the beneficiaries of the funds raised:
Security for the princes is said to be understandably high.
