Postcard from the Cherry Farm

Posted Tue, 2 Dec 2008 (3 years ago)

Having visited Klondyke Cherry Farm near Ceres last winter, I was delighted to receive the following postcard from the charming Alan Garlick, owner of this lovely, unpretentious place, advising me that cherry picking season is here.

 Hi there!

This years cherries are now ripe so come and visit Klondyke Farm

and “pick-your-own”!

After a very cold winter with lots of rain, and snow on the farm a couple of times, the countryside has at last dried out and warmed up.

The cold weather caused some damage to the early cultivars however the cherry season is now in full swing and we have juicy and sweet cherries for you to enjoy.

Our Cherry Farmstall is open 8:30am - 4:30pm, 7 days a week until end of December (except for Christmas Day when we will be closed).

Entry fee is only R15-00 per person, and the price for the cherries you pick is R38-00 per kg. We provide containers for pickers to use .

We invite you to spend the day here with family & friends and to picnic in the shade under the trees. Remember to bring a jacket or warm top as the wind can sometimes be very cold.

We look forward to seeing you up here on the farm.

Regards,

Alan Garlick
