Top r&b/pop group,
the Rockets, is to perform at a picnic concert at the
Taalmonument in
Paarl on Saturday 28 January. The show, which begins at 20:00, will take place on the stage on the lawn below the monument.
The Rockets are multiple SAMA nominees and have performed at virtually every prestigious venue in South Africa. They have supported many international acts in South Africa, including Ronan Keating, Will Young, Patrizio Buanne and Alicia Keys. International tours have included performances in Australia, the Middle East and Africa.
They have had numerous record successes in South Africa and have topped many radio station and official charts. Their latest Afrikaans hits, “Namakwa Daisy” and “Ek is Lief Vir Jou”, are currently receiving extensive airplay.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or they can order one from Volksmond Coffee Shop (tel. 021 863 2800 or volksmond@taalmuseum.co.za). Volksmond will be open for coffee and light refreshments. The concert is held in aid of the Taalmonument’s Reading Project for the Youth.
