It's that time of year again, folks. Check out our info on all the Cape Town road closures that may affect you today...
This year the Opening of Parliament will be at 7 pm in Cape Town's CBD but other parts of the city and suburbs will also be affected, traffic wise, as convoys of politicians and other involved parties make their way to the event.
To avoid traffic jams make a note of the following information:
Road Closures & Traffic Information
Parts of the following roads will be closed from 17h45 for 35 minutes:

Klipper Road

Princess Anne Avenue
-
Newlands Avenue
-
Dean Street
-
M3 and Eastern Boulevard towards the city
-
N2 between the M4 and the city
-
Woolsack Drive westbound.

Anzio Road in Observatory
From 16h00 to 20h00 the following roads will be closed:

Strand Street off-ramp on Eastern Boulevard

Hertzog Boulevard inbound
And sections of:

Adderley Street
-
Heerengracht Street
-
Wale Street
-
Parliament Street
-
Commercial Street
-
Spin Street
-
Plein Street.
Also note:
The Company Gardens will be closed from 16h00
Streets surrounding the legislature, including Plein Street and Roeland Street, will be partially closed for up to 11 hours on Thursday.
Alternative routes
Road users are advised to use alternative routes into the CBD during the event
Parking restrictions
There will be parking restrictions in the following areas from midnight on Wednesday 8 February 2010 to 22:00 on Thursday 9 February 2010. Alternative parking options include the Grand Parade, Buitenkant Street and Darling Street.
