Officially The Best Travel Blog 2009

A massive thank you! to all of you who voted for and supported the Portfolio Travel Blog during the SA Blog Awards 2009. The great news is - we won our category!

The SA Blog Award Ceremony, held on Friday night at Chevelle (a club in the centre of Cape Town) was a lot of fun. I must admit it was - interesting - felt like a Geek Convention where we'd all got lost en route to the real venue!

Jolene and I (Joy) (left - I'm the one doing the bottle-nosed dolphin impression) were there representing Portfolio and were delighted and (in my case) completely surprised when we were announced the Best Travel Blog - not that I don't think we deserved it but considering we've only been going for under 6 months and were up against some stiff competition I was prepared to be a runner-up this year.

We are so grateful to those of you who have contributed with your stories and photographs, and content and encourage you to keep sending us relevant content to help us make this blog both a great read and a useful resource for our readers.
