Obama Celebrates with Graham Beck

Posted Fri, 30 Jan 2009 (3 years ago)

On the day back in November last year that the American President was voted into office, the name Barack Obama was on everyone's lips. But what was on Obama's lips?

South Africa's finest bubbly, that's what!

Obama and his supporters celebrated the day with half a case of Graham Beck Brut NV, a wonderful endorsement for both Graham Beck's fine product in particular, and South African wines in general.

A report in today's Mail & Guardian says that Barack and Michelle Obama first enjoyed the Brut NV back in February 2008 while they were celebrating Obama's victory as the Democrat's presidential nominee.

So impressed were they with the fizz that they ordered six bottles to toast his election victory in November.

The same stuff was chosen to celebrate the inauguration of South Africa's first democratically elected president, Nelson Mandela, back in 1994.

Well done all at Graham Beck and thank you for another proudly South African moment!
