The festival, which takes the form of a street parade of children and adults with floats and puppets and decoration made from recycled goods found on local beaches, is a collaboration between the three communties in the area - Sun Valley / Fish Hoek/ Noordhoek / Kommetjie; Ocean View and Masiphumelele.
The street parade, which brought traffic to a standstill, was a loud and colouful affair that ended on the public open space in front of the Sun Valley mall where musical items, drumming and dancing took place.
Despite a howling South-easter, most of the participants seemed to enjoy the day.
