Ranger Diary

18 January 2010

The White Lioness has been seen with the rest of the pride, as well, in the Southern Section of the reserve. The White Lion has been seen defending her, from the continual badgering she has withstood over the past week.

It can be assumed that with her now getting familiar with her surroundings, and encountering the pride more regularly, that she is going through a phase of a second introduction amongst the lionesses who she was socialized to in October 2009. No physical contact is being made, though the two lionesses have been using intimidatory tactics to get her to submit to them.

The breeding herd of Elephants, have now become more relaxed with the new edition to the group, as more realistic movement patterns are being maintained by the herd, as they now begin orientating the calf with its new surroundings, and preferred habitats.
