Mielies Organic Market opens in Newlands

A new organic market, with a good cause at heart, opened this past Friday in Newlands, Cape Town. Anna Richerby sent us the following information on what is sure to become a popular Cape Town organic market.

The all-new Mielies Food Garden started on Friday 3 April 2009.

Come and enjoy this fresh food organic market at Montebello Design Centre, Newlands, every Friday from 9.00am till 1.00pm (excl. public holidays).

Now you can support township-based organic farmers and enjoy delicious veggies – picked that very morning – every Friday at Montebello.

All proceeds will help to establish Mielie’s food garden in Khayelitsha.

Awesome! That's just around the corner from me. I knew they were planning to have a market there, just didn't know when it was starting. Will definitely check them out on the 17th.
