McGregor Festival 2010

The picturesque village at the edge of the Klein Karoo is getting ready to spring to life at the end of August for the annual McGregor Festival.

A visit to this rural idyllic village will take you back in time with its Cape Dutch wine estates and olde worlde cottages. There is wine tasting a-plenty at the many participating cellars which include Lords and Wolfdoring, McGregor, Kingsriver, Tanagra, Buitehof and Buffalo Creek.

A Noel Coward cabaret on the Friday evening should not be missed (booking essential, call 023 6251773), so even though the McGregor Festival is only one day (Saturday 28 August) it's worth coming through the night before - in fact why not make a weekend of it?

You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to cuisine - plenty of delicious local food on offer at one of the many eateries scattered throughout the village.

Don't worry if you're a rugby fan - big screen TVs will be up at several restaurants on Saturday.
