The V&A Market on the Wharf will be situated inside the historic Power Station (formerly the Musica flagship store). The idea is to put Cape Town on par with international city markets such as La Boqueria in Barcelona, Borough Market in London and the Ferry Building Market in San Francisco, offering an authentic organic and fresh food destination. The V&A Market on the Wharf will operate from Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00 to 19:30.

According to their website http://www.marketonthewharf.co.za/, the idea is to:

"Gather all the best kept culinary secrets Cape Town has on offer in one location, and to offer vendors a golden opportunity to operate retail space in the V&A Waterfront at affordable rates. We would also like to offer individuals, who do not have their own products, an opportunity to become vendors at the Market."

The market is scheduled to open in November 2012.
