Every artist will at some stage be inspired by the views from their studio windows.

Artist
Marie Theron has settled on the
West Coast after a long career in teaching, lecturing in watercolours at the
Bellville Art Centre, illustrating stationery and books and holding solo exhibitions, both locally and abroad.
From her studio she looks out onto
Table Mountain, the displays of spring flowers and the rows of salted snoek drying in the sea breeze. She became aware of the
true West Coast, a neglected subject among artists who take shortcuts with the staid formula of idealized ‘west coast cottages’.
In April 2009 she started a personal journey, documenting in paint every interesting aspect of this beloved area.
