For family reasons we spend a lot of time driving from Cape Town to Pringle Bay on weekends. Gordon's Bay has become a favourite place to stop for an hour or two to enjoy lunch. But there's a lot more to do in and around this charming seaside village.
Thanks to Lia from Harbour View Lodge for sending in a list of places to visit and activities to enjoy in Gordon's Bay.
1. Stroll, sunbathe and swim at the Blue Flag status Bikini Beach or along the main beach.

2. Visit one of the best bookshops in the Cape - Bikini Bay Bookshop, overflowing with new and second hand books piled up all over the place. Look out for the sleeping cats between the books!

3. Enjoy a day wine tasting along the Sir Lowry's Wine Route.
4. Hike one of the many beautiful hiking trails in the area - try out the Koggel Bay Biosphere Reserve.

5. Water ski at the Blue Rock Cable Waterski facility - spend an hour or a day making the most of the facilities at Blue Rock which include a diving academy, mini-golf, kid's play area and restaurant and bar.

6. For more water sports there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy boating and sailing - charters and ferries and more are all available in Gordon's Bay for sea lovers. Try Bugaloo Speedboats for super-fast boating fun. They operate from Harbour Island at The Vila Via Hotel in Gordonsbay, where the trips provide breathtaking views over Falsebay towards Hangklip and Cape Point.
7.Take the family to Monkey Town - entertainment and education for all ages. Monkey Town Primate Sanctuary is a privately owned sanctuary with many other creatures apart including buck and birds.

8. Feeling adventurous? You can arrange to go paragliding in the Gordon's Bay area for a bird's eye view of this stunning stretch of coastline. Contact Paraglide South Africa for more information.
9. Take a scenic drive along the coast in the direction of Pringle Bay and enjoy a meal at the acclaimed @365 restaurant for great food and views. Closer to "home" the Sunset Bay Spur family restautant in Gordon's Bay is right on the beachfront and a popular choice for locals with young kids.
10. Go shopping. Just down the road you'll find Somerset Mall offering everything you could want in a mall, from clothes and accessories to food to entertainment and beyond.
