Yesterday afternoon, Fish Hoek beach was a riot of crazily dressed people gathered to celebrate the start of Spring with a mad dash into the waves.
As a local Fish Hoek resident and regular swimmer at this popular family friendly (and shark-renowned) beach myself, I had to join in - along with my own family and cheered on by some warmly dressed friends.
One of those friends was photographer Andre van Rooyen who captured some of the madness on camera - and agreed to let me share it with our readers.
