Scheduled for the last week-end of November, the FINE BRANDY FESTIVAL will take place in the secluded historic Camps Bay venue with dramatic views of the sea and mountains. Hot Water, CODA, Farryl Purkiss and more will set the mood as guests sample specialty potstills from Van Ryn’s Collection Reserve, which brought home the title of International Wine & Spirit Competition Worldwide Best Brandy for the fourth time this year:
-
Oude Meester, top performer at the 2011 New York International Spirits Competition
-
Klipdrift Gold, a regular international and local gold medallist
-
Flight of the Fish Eagle
-
Collison’s White
Every one of these award-winning labels will have its own designated area, serving generous supplies of gourmet canapés and bowls brimming with delicious cuisine. The dishes are being designed by well-known Roundhouse chefs, PJ Vadas and Eric Bulpitt to pair with these world-class potstills.
The festival is intended as a sophisticated but chilled encounter with brandy, while listening to exciting local musical talent.
Hot Water, currently one of South Africa’s most talked-about bands, who raised the temperature at this year’s Oppikopi Festival will be part of Saturday’s line-up. Hear them, along with great Afro-jazz favourite, CODA and the very gorgeous saxophonist, Judy Brown.
On Sunday, expect to see Judy Brown and CODA once again, as well as Farryl Purkiss (of Fruitbat and Crows fame) and Cape Town group, Yemanya, a classical glam group with a unique Afro/Spanish/Latin sound.
The festival is being hosted by connoisseur brandy portfolio, FINE BRANDY.BY DESIGN™.
