The gorgeous gals in South Africa at present for Miss World 2009 brought extra glamour to last night’s FIFA Confederations Cup Draw at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Even without their assistance football fans and fanatics would have been glued to the screens (it was broadcast live on TV for a full 5 hours) as they waited for all the details of the event (seen as a pre-cursor to the World Cup) which will see great footballing nations such as Brazil, Italy and Spain (among others) heading for South Africa next June.
The draw placed South Africa, Spain, Iraq and New Zealand in Group A and Brazil, Italy, United States and Egypt in Group B.
Games will be played from 14 to 28 June 2009 at
- Johannesburg's Ellis Park Stadium
- Rustenburg's Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex
- Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein
- Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane (Pretoria)
The opening match between hosts South Africa and Iraq taking place at Ellis Park. The full itinerary can be found below (as listed on the official FIFA website)
June 2009 is set to be a huge month for SA as the British and Irish Lion’s Tour is due the same month.
