Drop anchor in Calitzdorp for the Port and Wine Festival

Posted Wed, 8 Jun 2011 (12 months ago)

The biennial Calitzdorp Port and Wine festival takes place from 16 June to 18 June.

The festival centres around the old railway station. Calitzdorp wineries taking part in the festival are Axe Hill, Boplaas, Calitzdorp Cellar, De Krans, Du'SwaRoo, Peter Bayly, TTT and Withoek.

The festival programme features Portuguese Fare, Art Galleries, Port and Wine Tasting, Music, Biodiversity and Succulent Exhibition, Tractor (and Taxi) Cellar Crawling, Cheese and Port/Wine Pairing, Chocolate and Port/WIne Decadence, the Long Table Brunch and much more.

The festival cuisine will be tailored to complement port. Chef Francois Ferreira will present pairings banner Boerekos, Port, Bollywood and Ballroom.  Taste handmade chocolates, unique cheeses and Klein Karoo olives and other specialities.

Entry to all events and venues, unless otherwise indicated, is included in the Festival entry fee.  With a few exceptions, each day's programme is identical.
Premier Events and Other Events require additional entry fees.

NOTE: All tickets must be purchased at Computicket in advance OR at the Computicket Box Office next to the Church Hall in the centre of town.
