Did you know that South Africa has three capital cities?

Pretoria (Tshwane) is the Executive Capital. It is also the de facto capital of SA.

Bloemfontein is the Judicial Capital

Cape Town is the Legislative Capital. The Houses of Parliament are in this, the Mother City of SA

The above fact was inspired by this article on the Lonely Planet's newsletter which lists 10 cities including New York (USA) Marrakesh (Morocco) and Mumbai (India) that people often mistakenly assume are the capitals of their respective countries, but aren't. They are correct in saying that Cape Town is not the only capital of SA.

Now you know what all 3 of our capital cities are!
