Something I've always wanted to see is the Old Dutch Reformed Church in Clanwilliam filled with flowers during this annual event. From the photos I've seen it looks incredible - maybe I'll get there this year...
Did you know that the region around Clanwilliam on the West Coast is said to be home to the greatest variety of wild flowers in one district in the whole world?
The annual Wild Flower Show is held by the Clanwilliam Wild Flower Association in the Old Dutch Reformed Church. This beautiful building was declared a National Monument in 1978.

Each year, as winter draws to a close, volunteers from the association gather armfulls of wild flowers and create an incredible landscape out of them in the church, using around 360 species in all. A special botanical division displays all the flowers on show with their botanical, as well as their common names.
In addition to this colourful display there are concerts, art and food stalls, and a street carnival.
