Although there are a number of Uruguay supporters in South Africa, it has to be said that by far the majority of locals who may never before have considered themselves supporters of Holland will be rooting for the Dutch team. Uruguay has proven themselves unpopular with the host nationa due to their dismantling of our own Bafana boys in the opening round of matches, and then by beating Ghana - Africa's last hope for the sporting extravaganza - in a nail biting finish to that quarter final match up.
In particular, the 'most hated man in football' Luis Suárez is seen as the poster boy for poor sportsmanship - by his diving in the Bafana game and being behind what many see as SA goalie Khune's unfair red card and in particular for the "Hand of Satan" handball that stopped Ghana's last minute sure-thing goal in Friday's clash.
At least the red card he earned himself put paid to his playing in tonight's match. We can however expect to see more incredible play from the team's golden boy, Diego Forlán
Last time Holland played in Cape Town the streets of the city turned orange as thousands of supporters dressed in head-to-toe in that nation's colour. The Fan Walk today, despite the cold weather, is sure to be crammed with the craziest costumes and most passionate of fans. Reports out of Holland say the cities there are decorated in orange and that fans throughout the land are blowing lustily on vuvuzelas throughout the land.

One can only imagine what Jan Van Riebeeck would think if he time-travelled back to the Mother City tonight...
