Cape Town a Top Beach City - Lonely Planet

Posted Mon, 16 Jan (4 months ago)

With the Mother City experiencing a heat wave today it's not surprising that the beach is on our collective mind today.

Cape Town is unsurprisingly listed as a top beach city by Lonely Planet in this blog post - something that will not surprise most Capetonians and Cape Town fans.

Camps Bay and Fish Hoek get special mentions...

The article says of our beautiful city:

"Good-looking, fun-loving, sporty and sociable. If Cape Town was in the dating game that’s how her profile would read. And – for once – it’s all true. As well as magnificent Table Mountain the city is famed as a beach hot-spot. Dotted around the coastline you’ll find a beach for every occasion. The stylish set flock west to join their cocktail sipping counterparts at Camps Bay, while families head east to Fish Hoek Beach for rugby games on the sand."

Other coastal cities on the list include Sydney (Australia), Tel Aviv (Israel), Dubai (UAE) and Tangier (Morocco).

Did you see our own list of the South Africa's top beaches? Which is your fav?

*Sigh* Now all I want to do is leave the office and head for the seaside!
