Beer Tasting Fridays

Posted Fri, 27 Mar 2009 (3 years ago)

Chris Boshoff sent this Vital News for beer lovers in the Mother City - the announcement of a new movement - Beer Tasting Fridays!

The idea is to explore different beers (might even go to wine once we've covered Cape Town's beer hot spots) and then head for home once the rush-hour traffic has stabilised.

We're going to keep it casual - you fall in and leave when you have to. If this takes off and we get regular crowd going I will even try arrange for special deals and discounts with the venues.

Even if you don’t like beer this movement is for you. Against all contrary belief: Our local major brewery doesn’t actually produce beer (think instant coffee, in my opinion!). The real stuff is out there!

Invite all the beer lovers you know!

To join and find out more, go to:

This week we visit:

What is it with Beer and Fridays? ;-P

Thank for this - will certainly look into joining in on one of the future beer tasting events.

Every Friday I find myself outside on the balcony of the chemical engineering department building, at an educational institution. We have what's called 'Beer Club' on Friday afternoons. Local and imported beers.

Often we have of the beer made inside the building. Yes , a micro brewery at work! The next batch should be available in two weeks time ... w00t!

Folling my earlier comment, forgot to include some urls.

ChemEng Beer Club
Yeah, the beer was THAT good, we had to create a fan page on FBook.

I am not often surprised with what I might locate on line, however this site has me slightly amused. Although I enjoy the odd beer, I had not really thought much about the different beers that are available in the South of the globe. Yet, I know many love their beer, so I should have expected that there would be a great article outlining the type of beers available.
