"Lost the game, won our hearts. Goodnight Bafana, this was your Redemption Song." - a comment on Twitter last night says it all...
South Africa’s Bafana Bafana played an epic game against Brazil in last night’s second Confederations Cup semi final. Our boys kept local supporters at Coca Cola / Ellis Park stadium (Johannesburg) in a state of near frenzy for 87 minutes as they more than kept pace with the world’s 5th ranking Brazil – even though Bafana Bafana are well outside of the top 50.
Dani Alves' powerful free kick in the final minutes of the game was the only effort from the Samba Kings to make it past awesome Bafana goalkeeper

Radio stations and social networking sites Twitter and Facebook were flooded with emotional calls and comments from proud South Africans after the game – the general feeling of sadness mixed with euphoria at how well our team played.
Despite the loss, Bafana Bafana’s more than credible performance has given us plenty to look forward to at the 2010 world cup, and they have certainly stirred up patriotism in the hearts of South Africans from all sectors.
Well done Bafana Bafana! We're so proud of you!
