This year Do it Day falls on Friday 15 October 2010 (and carries over to Saturday 16 October for those who can't get time off work, or who want to offer two days to their cause of choice).
From today 27 September, members of the public can start signing up to lend a helping hand to the cause of their choice.
The excellent volunteering resource website Greater Good SA runs this event and promotes a wide range of projects for you to choose from. Want to plant a tree? Paint a children's home? Visit the elderly? Walk some dog shelter dogs?There are so many worthy causes you're bound to find something in your area.
Get a team of colleagues or friends together and earn yourself some great feel-good points by doing something for the greater good of our nation.
