Posted Wed, 18 Nov 2009 (10 months ago)

One of the most rewarding and memorable experiences available to those who spend time in the African bush is the sighting of wild animals in their natural habitat.

Those who live and work at Pumba Private Game Reserve and Safari Lodges in the Eastern Cape Province are blessed enough to be able to introduce visitors to that special part of South Africa to a wonderful array of wildlife, creatures both great and small, each week.

The southern section of the reserve, this past week has provided some good viewing for guests visiting the reserve. The White Lion Pride had been associating in the vicinity of the acclimatizing boma, which is currently housing a White Lioness, which will be introduced in due course, they were observed chasing after a Giraffe Bull.

The Cheetah were seen on four occasions, as well as feeding on a Blesbuck that they had successfully hunted. The breeding herd of Elephant have been concentrating their movements along the floodplains of the Cariega River, with the hot days being experienced, as well as the rhinoceros.

The Lions though have been scarce on account of them having made a kill, drawing them into the thickets on our western boundary.
