Ranger's Diary
21 December 2009
It has been an exciting period for the Conservation Team at Pumba. The reserve has just had a new born elephant calf join the group, which is a mere couple of days old. With the birth of this calf, it brings the total of new born elephant in Pumba to 4 since there introduction into the reserve in November 2004. The calf will be monitored closely and hopefully the Conservation Team will post some photographs of the calf in the following update next week.
The theme for the week, is evolved around the introduction of the White Lioness, who we are seeing more often, roaming the boundaries of the southern section of the reserve, while she orientates herself. The two male lions in the northern section of the reserve, killed a Kudu outside the reserve village, which they fed on for two days.
