We blogged a while back about the great kid's CD The African Alphabet and how refreshing it was to have a children's CD that featured South African voices, music, imagery and concepts.
The same team, led by musician Graeme Sacks, has now put out a new CD, this time packed with great stories and sing-along songs, imbued with the genuine scent of Africa!
We are delighted to recommend (ta daaaa...)
Stories from the Alphabet Tree
Stories from the Alphabet Tree (volume 1) is the first in a series of 4 CDs containing stories based on the acclaimed African Alphabet CD. It introduces the first 6 letters of the alphabet from an African perspective.
What do a baobab tree, a dassie named Dumi, a crocodile, a dung beetle and a baby elephant have in common? They are all part of the vibrant African alphabet!
These fun stories have been edited and directed by the renowned children's entertainer, Francois Venter.
In the hot sun of the African Bushveld, under the shade of a big baobab tree, settle down and listen to stories filled with bravery, adventure and laughter!
The tales tell of memorable characters such as the responsible dassie Dumi, the gullible dung beetle Mr Deedles and a brave firefly, among others. Each is followed by an African alphabet song.
