2010 Host City Posters Unveiled

Posted Tue, 27 Jan 2009 (3 years ago)

We're at 499 days and counting to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The nine host cities celebrated 500 days with the unveiling of their individually designed promotional poster logos.

The host cities are:

  • Bloemfontein
  • Cape Town
  • Durban
  • Johannesburg
  • Nelspruit
  • Polokwane
  • Port Elizabeth
  • Rustenburg

The posters will be used as branding to promote the massive event on various media such as  billboards, signage, indoor and outdoor decoration, online promotion etc, according to Sicelo Shiceka, the chairperson of the 2010 World Cup Host Cities Forum.

Their purpose is to "inform, excite and raise awareness" about the World Cup.

This exciting next step is one that will capture the attention and enthusiasm of the local community as part of the build-up to 2010.

Here are two examples of the host city posters.
